How to Keep Brothers and Sisters Safe and Happy Workshop by Yvonne Newbold
April 29 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm
If you have a child with additional needs in your family, do you worry that your other children may be missing out on other things during their childhood, and how that doesn’t seem fair? Do you feel that you aren’t able to give them as much time and attention as you would wish simply because their brother or sister needs so much extra support?
In families of SEND children, sometimes things like day trips, holidays and even regularly going to the park may be very difficult to organise and always geared around the most vulnerable child in the family, which can often make it hard on the brothers and sisters. In some families where a SEND child has behavioural difficulties, parents can harbour serious concerns about keeping everyone safe, and worry about the long-term effects of living with fear and unpredictability can have on all their children.
This workshop gives everyone a chance to unpack their concerns and look at their own family dynamic. We will share lots of strategies that can make things work much better within the family unit.
Cost – £10 per person non refundable deposit
